Description
This Mercury glass flamingo is typical of Lauscha and Bohemian production. The silvering compound is blown into the opening at the rear and is not permanently fixed. The workers who did this swallowed some of the material and after many years this lead to blackening of the skin when exposed to sunlight.
It is possible that this was made before 1900 and almost certainly before 1939.
Has anyone discovered a useful book on Lauscha lampwork?
