Avon cosmetics started business in New York, USA, in 1886. It was not until the 1960\'s that they introduced novelty containers. While this became a large collectables market, prices collapsed after the Internet started to impact the market. Today they represent a well documented range of collectables and will probably rise in popularity again. Most of their glass containers had plastic closures.
